230 Little Tor Rd., New City, NY. (845) 634-1545. The farmhouse and its twin, China Echo farmhouse were built of native red sandstone around 1769 by the Blauvelt brothers. It wasn't until 1893, that Andrew C. Cropsey's wife Lizzie became the owner of the 50 acres of land which is now known as Cropsey Farm. A gentleman farmer and attorney who commuted to NYC daily, Andrew died in 1911 leaving enormous debts. His children continued to farm the land but as a business. Today, Cropsey is very modern in its farming approach with a Garden Center and Produce Store. Everyday is an exciting event at Cropsey which is open 7 days a week year-round.
